In 2019, the couple tied the knot and welcomed their son Mosesvia IVFin April. Hall also started hosting her own eponymoussyndicated talk showin September of that year.
“With Steven, it is great to have this guy who is rooting me on, and he was the first person I’ve ever dated when I haven’t been on television,” she told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview in 2019.

He’s a music manager
Greener works at Primary Wave as a partner, where he supervises “the music talent management that’s home toCeeLo Green,Fantasia,Melissa Etheridge,Brandy, Cypress Hill, Eric Benét, Toots & The Maytals and many others,” according to the company’swebsite.
They were longtime friends before dating
Though the couple began dating following her departure from NBC in 2017, they knew each other for years before their friendship turned romantic.
“I’ve known him for many years,” Hall told PEOPLE. “We would run into each other, and he’s shy, so I wasn’t clear that he was hitting on me exactly. I thought he was just being friendly. When we finally started dating, I could see him clearly. When I was working, given the competitive environment I was in, you don’t always see people for who they are. Once I left, I started to have better conversations. You’re more present, and you’re not looking at your phone, not checking your email. The fear factor of ‘What’s going on with my spot? Am I going to keep this job?’ fell away, and I could really see Steven.”
While their marriage came as a surprise to fans (she toldSteve Harveyin February 2017 that she had a boyfriend who worked in the “entertainment” industry), her decision to keep her romance under wraps was intentional.

He’s a first-time dad
In March 2019, Hall announced that she and Greener had tied the knot and wereexpecting their first child together.
“I’ve wanted to share this news for many months, and, now, finally, my doctor has said I am in a safe place, at 32 weeks, to share my joy with y’all. So, it’s clear a daytime talk show isn’t the only thing I’ve been trying to produce!” joked Hall, who wore a one-shoulder white gownfor the first snapshot. “There have been many tears, but today I embrace the smiles,” she continued. “My husband Steven and I are beyond excited! We’re in constant prayer, so if you pray, add us to your list; if you meditate, send calmness our way; and if you believe in luck, we’ll happily take that too.”
“It’s his first child, and he also thought he would never be a dad,” Hall told PEOPLE.

They’re teaching their son about both heritages
“He’s Jewish, so we had a bris here at the house,” Hall said of the Jewish ceremony of circumcision.
“My mom nearly passed out. We had both grandparents on each side there, and he’s going to Texas to have a Christening or a Confirmation at my mom’s Southern Baptist church,” she added of raising little Moses to embrace tradition from both his parents' heritages. “We’ve just combined our life experiences, and we want to teach him tradition.”

He’s a Yankees fan
Despite the couple celebrating both heritages in their family, there’s one subject they may never see eye-to-eye on: baseball.
“Steven wants him to be a Yankees fan,” she said. “We’ll deal with that at another time because I don’t know about that, but we’ll deal with it.”
He’s a family man
Greener revealed to PEOPLE just how “lucky” and “amazed” he is since becoming a dad and marrying Hall.
“Tamron is one of the most authentic, loving, honest, caring people I’ve ever known,” he said. “My favorite part of marriage and fatherhood so far is realizing every day I am exactly where I was always meant to be — with my family. I am home.”

Hall added of her husband: “He’s an outgoing person. He’s a shy person, but he likes to stay, not in the shadows, but he likes to stay on the side and he likes to root me on.”
And while she could never have imagined her life would turn out the way it did, Hall is grateful that every step paved the path to where she is now.
He’s a Bob Marley fan
Hall revealed on theMe Becoming Mompodcast that the couple had considered naming their son Bob after the late reggae singerBob Marley. In the end, they opted for a name with religious significance.
He supported Hall’s breastfeeding journey
Hall admitted that her breastfeeding plans didn’t turn out how she expected, and when the journey got tough, Greener was there to support her.
“I went into this thinking, ‘Breastfeeding is my goal, but if it doesn’t work, fine. There’s formula. I’m going to look at this rationally,'” Hall toldPEOPLE.
But three weeks after giving birth, when her supply lowered, she began to feel distressed that her son possibly wasn’t eating enough.
“[Husband Steven Greener] came home one day and said, ‘Are you okay?’ I was just lost behind the eyes because something I swore three weeks ago would not break me had, in fact, broken me. I was feeling so insecure,” she recalled.
Greener’s support helped Hall reset her outlook on breastfeeding.
“A mentally healthy mom is best, and this was breaking me down,” she said.
He’s in charge of the pets while they work from home
Making a marriage work isn’t always glamorous — sometimes you have to be the one to silence the parrot. That’s Greener’s role, according to Hall. When she had to pivot to filmingThe Tamron Hall Showfrom the comfort of her home during the COVID-19 pandemic, she described Greener as “an enormous help.”
“Even though he’s also working from home, he does our camera work and wrangles our bird,” she said. Their parrot’s name is Josephine Birdkir, or Jojo for short.
She joked, “So far, I give him a C+, because the bird is winning.”
