But the spirit of excogitation is still kickin ’ , and darn if it is n’t used totell us a story that ’s more than just “ fresh weird Wesen kills a guy , Nick eventuallygets ’em . ”
While I enjoyed “ The Good Soldier , ” there ’s not too much toit , so I rationalize if this is brief ( not really . I have to stay home every Friday nightGrimm and Dracula are on , so I figure you people owe me ) . A cleaning woman chance soldierKirk Acavedo from Fringe , accuses himof raping her without using the news rape , she leaves , and Kirk is immediately kill by amanticore — a mythical creature with a lion headspring and a Scorpio ’s tail ( italso normally has bat wing , but the Grimm budget only stretches so far ) .
The woman , named Frankie , also solicit a few militarycontractors , who we have it away from primetime tv set dramas are all scumbags , and of course rapedher as well . One of the contractors wants to confess , but the manticore killshim and his married woman before he can , until there ’s only the first-rate - slimy foreland of thePMC left . Meanwhile , Nick and Hank do their investigator matter , realize anotherdude in Phoenix who assist with these guys die in Phoenix a few weeks ago inthe same way , so they call their older commanding officer , who ’s die ofcancer somewhere across the country , who explains about the ravishment and that the guy cable are scumbags , but since they ’re individual military contractor they ca n’t be prosecuted for anything . And when this CO gets off Skype , he die and gets himself a drink , becausehe ’s in reality in a cheap motel way , not a hospital .
Nick and Hank find Frankie , who is happy to tell them that sure , she called these assholes out , but she did n’t stamp out them . There ’s a great scenewhere Nick pulls his “ Look , I ’m a Grimm and I know you ’re a mantichora . ” The lady gives him a flat look and turns into a Steinadler , a war hawk Wesen , and Nick isjust bowl over . Of course , the only other individual who knew what Frankie was planning wasthe CO , and Nick and Hank realize the one-time CO is the manticore , just as he take in up with the PMC head , and turns into a manticore . And thenthe last PMC guy turn into a mantiger , too
AND THEN THERE ’S A MOTHERFUCKING MANTICORE FIGHT .
I ’ll get back to this in second . Nick and Hank arrive justas PMC Asshole stabs Old CO in the pectus , but do n’t worry , it ’s all part of OldCO ’s architectural plan — PMC asshole ca n’t be convicted for raping Frankie , but hecan be convicted for murdering Old CO back here in the U.S. Justice is done , more or less .
Here ’s what made this episode stand out from the otherW - o’-t - due west episodes for me : 1 ) The execution were so straightforward that it actually madesense for Nick and Hank not to immediately distrust a Wesen . Yes , the victimsall had an oddly magnanimous , rotary injury , but that only proved the killer had aweird weapon , not that he / she was a weird Wesen . There was no victim cover in boils , no one had climbed a tree to lease their belly blow up . And as soon as theyheard the weapon also shoot neurotoxin , as if there was a elephantine scorpioninvolved , Nick and Hank just look at each and immediately called Juliette for Grimm research avail .
2 ) The obvious suspect was n’t the perpetrator . commonly , Grimmdoesn’t endeavor to make its mysteries too tough , letting the discovery of theWesen - cape of the bad Guy count as the secret plan . But “ The Good Soldier ” did agood caper about making Frankie seem like the cause of death by giving us no othersuspects until very late in the biz , which made the twist a snatch of asurprise . This was also wait on by the fact that 3 ) Grimm fob up inregards to the Old CO . Not that Nick and Hank necessitate to be useless , of course , but this was almostentirely an event that was occurring beyond the region of the main Grimmcharacters , that Nick and Hank only got to see part of . intelligibly , all this stuffwould have bechance almost exactly the same way had Nick not gotten involved . As it turns out , Rosalee was in clink for shopliftingduring her daddy ’s funeral , which caused her to miss it , which forced her sisterto come home and take care of their female parent , which made her A-one , crack - bitter , and thus Rosalee has n’t seen any of them for seven years . This gets resolved overa individual dinner , which keep it from having the worked up impact the writersprobably want it to .
• I do n’t hump what ’s wrong with Rosalee ’s mom , but she seemsfine . I do n’t recognize why she needed one of her daughter to abandon her career tocome back home and take care of her full time .

• 45 Seconds with Adalind : Adalind telekinectically mucksabout with a deep brown mug , albeit without much control condition . Renard ’s flunky says she’sslowly get her business leader back , which finally answers whether that hilariouslyelaborate set of task Stefania made her do play , but her powers still needtime to fully recover .
