Levinson was , until latterly , the Chairman and CEO of transmitted research firm Genentec . But late , he ’s been spending a little more time on other projects — namely , sitting as a Corporate Director for both Apple and Google . The FTC made it jolly clearback in Maythat they were uncomfortable with such cozy link between company that are progressively working on the same stuff and nonsense , at the same meter — speech sound software , web service , and now even OSes — so Levinson ’s resignation hard qualifies as “ kinda tardy . ”

What interesting this time around is that the company were essentially fight down for talent : As CEO , Schmidt was plainly going with the plate team . Levinson , though ? He was a free broker . grudge one for Apple , I suppose . And score 10 for the FTC .
UPDATE : 9to5Mac hasa potential theoryas to why Levinson went with Apple over Google , though they note that he is n’t on the nose hurting for cash . Anyway , here it is : Levinson ’s simply making more money from his seat with Apple . Like , a lot more :

All other thing equal — which they ’re not — it ’s a pretty compelling case . [ AllThingsD ]
