Diary of a Wimpy Kidactor Zachary Gordon had a brush with his own past aboard a flight, when he caught a fellow passenger watching him in an in-flight movie.

On Tuesday, Feb. 18, the actor took to Instagram to share his view from on board an airplane — and someone just a few rows ahead watching the film for which he’s best known.

“Should I tell them? 👀🤫,” the actor wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags, #airplane #actor and #oops.

Gordon and actor Robert Capron played the leads in the three live-action movies released from 2010 to 2012 that were based on the bestsellingWimpy Kidbook series.

Gordon, now 27, starred inWimpy Kidas Greg Heffley, while Capron, also 27, appeared as Rowley, Greg’s friend.

The ensemble also included Steve Zahn, Rachael Harris, Devon Bostick andChloë Grace Moretz, among others.

In September 2024, Gordon, Capron and author Kinney had a mini-reunion, with Kinney sharing aphoto on Xof the two actors together.

“These kids and their backwards hats and Mountain Dews and chocolate chip cookies,” Kinney wrote in a caption. “Good seeing you fellas.”

Capron had fun with their reunion photo after it spread on social media. “Yes chef,” he wrote in anInstagram poston Sept. 24, featuring a screengrabbed X post of the photo that misspelled his name as “Robert Apron.” Capron added an image of his face superimposed over a kitchen apron as a punch line.

Meanwhile, the officialDiary of a Wimpy KidInstagram account wrote in a comment, “Would buy.”

The two have also reunited elsewhere, and posed for a photo Gordonshared to social mediain March 2012, which Gordon captioned, “Zoo-Wee-Mama 🧀🤞🏻,” in reference to the movies.

SinceWimpy Kid, Gordon has continued his work as an actor, and has appeared in movies likeAmerican Pie Presents: Girls' Rules,DreamcatcherandMax Daganin recent years.
