Fanning stars as Dickie’s girlfriend picture-perfect girlfriend Marge Sherwood, the one who first suspects Tom might not be who he says he is.

The release marks the latest adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels, most famously seen on screen in 1999’sThe Talented Mr. RipleystarringMatt Damon,Gwyneth PaltrowandJude Law.

Fanning recently opened up about her future in Hollywood and shared herhopes for taking on another role.

“Being an actor is a huge part of my identity. I don’t really know who I am without it,” she toldPORTER, adding, “But I also have a desire to set up my life and career so that I always have a choice.”

She continued, “Having kids is probably more important to me than anything, even being an actor. If somebody said I had to choose, I would choose having kids. I’m one of those people who has always felt that pull.”

Though she doesn’t know when she’ll start a family or how much she’ll want to work at that time,The Watchersactress said she’s taking advantage of adventures now.

“I’m trying to push myself to keep saying yes to things that make me uncomfortable, to keep going to places for long periods of time that maybe I’m scared to do because — God willing — one day, it won’t be as easy.”

Ripleypremieres on Netflix on April 4.
