A charge solicitation agency that washacked last yearin an incident believe to bear upon millions of medical patient role is now seeking a federal failure courtyard ’s auspices from its own creditors .
American Medical Collection Agency ( AMCA ) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protective cover in New York this week citing a “ cascade of events ” stemming from the March 2019 realization that its systems had been gap , as well as the decisiveness of its four major guest to jump ship .
The break , CEO Russell Fuchs indite the court , “ lead in enormous expenses that were beyond the ability of the Debtor to gestate . ”

Millions of affected role who had undergone lab testing at Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp facilities are said to have been bear on by the severance . In its wake , AMCA pay roughly $ 400,000 to hire outside security professionals to define the generator of the attempt . “ Because the [ AMCA ] was unable to determine a particular subset of individual or data files that had been hacked , the Debtor had no option but to work under the assumption that all of the information within its host were compromised , ” wrote Fuchs , who lend AMCA $ 2.5 million of his own money to finish the mental process .

AMCA estimates its current liabilities at somewhere between $ 1 - 10 million . The company , along with Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp , are currently the subjects ofinvestigations and lawsuitslinked to the rift in multiple states , including New York , California , and New Jersey .
