When it is n’t being fired at or around you , ammunition can be kind of beautiful . We ’ve already seen the striking beauty ofexploding hummer trapped in Plexiglas , but photographerSabine Pearlmanfound a different , but equally awesome heater - picture taking coming : cut them in one-half .

Her photo seriesAMMO , conisists of shot of the innards of over 900 different types of ammunition , show not only how cautiously engineered and unique every different kind of bullet is , but also just how damn pretty they are up close .

Of naturally , there are more themes at play here than just “ pretty bullets . ” The work ’s prescribed description invest it this way :
Pearlman ’s photo blur our preconception by humanizing the creature of the shooter , show us their simplicity and esthetic balance , their tranquil arrangement of division . Yet , Pearlman ’s workplace also act to unarm the torpedo . Cloven in two and isolated from their context , they are fork over harmless . The viewer is impel to study them as abstractedness compile of shapes and angles , flecks of color and grain , devoid of utilisation .
But even with all that sound out , I just ca n’t get over how some of the volatile stuff looks a whole snake pit of a lot like Cocoa Pebbles .
