Here ’s how “ The Big Splash ” starts :

Maybe Charley could assist .
I carry my dog to the car and repose him on a blanket . His tail poke on the front seat ; he still have sex his car trips even though he could n’t see any longer . Then I drive down the hill , to the Big Splash . Parked the railway car on the articulatio humeri of the road , select off my shoes and take the air onto the beach .

Charley sat on a lawn chair watch the sunshine exercise set . He looked human - form of - but there were difference of opinion , the biggest being the third centre above the bridge of his nose . When Charley got lapidate , his corneas turned burnished pink and the third eye roam up into his capitulum .
“ Hey , Mark . ” Charley raised a hand . He looked at the package in my arms . “ Who ’s this ? ”

“ This is Roger , my cocker spaniel , ” I enjoin . “ He ’s a in force boy . ”
“ What ’s wrong with him ? ” Charley asked . He held out his hand and Roger sniff it .
“ He ’s old , ” I say . “ He ca n’t see any longer . Can barely walk . ”

“ wretched guy . ” Charley rub Roger ’s ears .
“ I want to involve a favour , ” I say . “ Maybe it ’s unintelligent . ”
“ Hit me . ”

“ I thought you might be able to help him . ” I render to keep the shake out of my vocalisation . “ Maybe rescind the aging procedure . ”
“ What makes you think I could do that ? ” Charley asked .
“ Well , you ’re an outlander and all . And you do that stuff with the white Anglo-Saxon Protestant and the crabs . ”
