Half the fun in taking pictures is sharing , right ? Well , Color for iPhone and Android make sharing all the fun . Except , you do n’t get to prefer who you ’re share with . There ’s no friending , no pursual , no privateness — just automatic communion to the multitude around you .

Color , Free , iPhoneandAndroid . rather of traditional photograph sharing apps like Instagram or Path , Color does n’t allow you foot and choose who you show your pictures to . It makes the conclusion for you based on your location . Wait … what ? Yep , Color uses your earpiece ’s sensors ( GPS , triangulation , accelerometer , even microphone , etc ) to finds other Color users who you ’re in proximity to . Once found , the app will automatically supply them to your “ flexible web ” , which means you’re able to see every picture they take from now on ( whether you have it off them or not ) . Once they knock into other Color users , you could see those the great unwashed ’s pictures too . Luckily you’re able to adjust how often mass populate your feed .

The app itself is simple but not exactly intuitive . For example , the app has 5 options but only pass on 3 icons ( two of the ikon pull out double duty ) . There ’s swipes you ’re not immediately familiar with and icons you ’ve never see . But it ’s not hard to get used to ! Take 5 minutes of twirling and you ’ll be o.k. . Take 15 and you ’ll schoolmaster . One thing though : it ’s very nice to not have to create a substance abuser bill . Oh , and it ’s a purrty .

Obviously , you wo n’t be using this app if you do n’t like strangers stalking your life . But ! Color can theoretically be insanely useful . Imagine yourself at a concert , a company , or a assembly of any sort , everyone is using Color and snap photograph from all different angles . All those photos would be automatically be shake off into the app and technically be yours .

People who like to take a lot of pictures . citizenry who wish to see other masses ’s moving-picture show . People who are n’t secret . the great unwashed who are rum . hoi polloi who live in concentrate cities that are tech friendly . People who wish to see what ’s going on around them . the great unwashed who go to tech - savvy event .

Why’s it better than alternatives?

Color is one of those few apps that make you step back . Whether that ’s because you do n’t quite understand the stage or think it ’s evidently amazing is up to you . Not having the selection to add friends is silly . What if your best friends are the multitude you never see anymore ? Sure , you’re able to connect up to mass when you see them but who know when you ’ll see them . If there ’s a redeeming lineament about societal connection it ’s that they let people keep in touch . Color , at its essence , does n’t worry itself about that .

I do n’t listen the lack of filter , I rather see the domain captivate as eye would but I ’m certain others will leave out them .

But most importantly , in order for Color to be successful , citizenry have to use it . There ’s no way around it . If the great unwashed do n’t , there ’s no vantage of using this over another app . When I played around with it , the only ally I had on my iPhone was my Android telephone set . The only friend my Android sound had was my iPhone . The app just come out , so we ’ll have to wait and see .
