Some say “kill them with kindness,” butCardi Bwould rather do it with her talent.
Two days afterdeactivating her Instagram account, following criticism that she was undeserving of herbest rap album Grammy win,Cardi made her triumphant return to social media — and with it, an exciting announcement.
The 26-year-old rapper revealed on Wednesday that in addition to being back on Instagram, she is also releasing a new song withBruno Marsthis week.
“Ok so I’m back from retirement to announce I have a brand new song coming out Friday at midnight with @brunomars,” she wrote alongside aphoto of the pairin what appears to be their new single’s cover art.
The rapper also added a little dig at those who claimed she was undeserving of Sunday’s award and reminded them that she and Mars, 33, were both proud Grammy-winning artists.
“#twogrammywinningartist 🏆🏆” she wrote in the hashtag at the end of the post.

“That’s not my style and that’s not what I’m with,” Cardi said, adding, “I don’t support that.”
“However, I’ve been taking a lot of s— today. I’m seeing a lot of bulls— today and I saw a lot of s— last night, and I’m sick of this s—. I work hard for my motherf—ing album,” she angrily stated.

“I remember last year when I didn’t win for ‘Bodak Yellow’ and everybody was like, ‘Cardi got snubbed,'” she recalled. “Now this year’s a f—ing problem?! My album went two-time platinum, my n—, and every chart that there was, my album was always Top 10. Number one album, as well.”
Defending this year’s win, Cardi noted how she “worked her ass off” and spent endless hours in the studio, despite being pregnant with her daughterKulture Kiari,now 7 months.
“I locked myself in the studio for three months, my n—. Didn’t go to sleep in my bed sometimes for four days straight — pregnant!” she explained. “While everybody was harassing me like, ‘You’re not gonna do it, we know you pregnant, your career’s over…'”
After the passionate video was posted — and subsequently deleted — Cardi then shared another cleaner reflection on her Instagram about all the work that went into makingInvasion of Privacy.
In the days that have followed, several artists have come to Cardi’s defense, includingLady Gaga, who encouraged social media users to“lift her up”.
“It is so hard to be a woman in this industry. What it takes, how hard we work through the disrespectful challenges, just to make art,” shewrote on Twitter Tuesday.
“I love you Cardi. You deserve your awards. Let’s celebrate her fight,” Gaga added. “Lift her up & honor her. She is brave.”

Mars and Cardirecently shared the stage in Atlanta, where they closed out the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest ahead ofSuper Bowl LIII— but they didn’t perform their hit remix to his 2018 song “Finesse.”
The pair’s almost-reunion came after the “Be Careful” rapper told her fans in late July that she haddropped out of performingin Mars’ 24K Magic World Tour in order to spend more time with her daughter Kulture Kiari and give her body time to recover after giving birth just 16 days earlier.
Cardi welcomed Kulture on July 10 alongside husband and fellow rapperOffset.
“As of today, I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall,” Cardi wrote on social media on July 26. “I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically.”

Mars also shared his own supportive message to Cardi on social media, where he reassured the rapper that they would “share the stage when the time is right.”
As Cardi pointed out, Mars is an eleven-time Grammy Award-winning musician. The singer paired up with Cardi for a remix of his tune “Finesse” last year, where they eventually broke the internet withtheirIn Living Color-inspired video.
The song went two-times platinum, sat at in the third spot of theBillboard‘s Hot 100 Chart, and topped both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and the Pop Songs airplay chart,according toBillboard.
