Last night ’s Arrow end with a major sea variety for the team . The problem is , it ’s a variety that intelligibly live for little more than a second of jolt . The real question is n’t how this will all effect Arrow go forward.—it ’s more about how long Arrow thinks it will be able to keep it up .
“ Tribute ” mostly deal with Oliver essay to palliate with the terms of the last episode’sown cliffhanger : an image of Ollie , hood down and clad in his Green Arrow suit , getting leaked to the media . famed names were note , the FBI gets involved , and meanwhile Ollie also has to shell out with his former Bratva sidekick Anatoly establish up and use up hostages for … reason ? A lot was going on , and as is par for the course with Arrow , a lot of it also involved our bomber desperately trying to keep closed book from each other ( more on that in a bit ) . But by the last of the instalment — with a thrust from his son William , who admits he ’s frightened of becoming an orphan because of his dada ’s vigilante vocation — Ollie comes to the conclusion that his dual career as the Mayor and as a Green Arrow under FBI investigation is hilariously indefensible .
So he decides to give up totally , and offers Diggle the Green Arrow mantle instead . Dun - dun - duuuuunnnn !
This would have much more of an impact if , like last week ’s twist , Arrow had n’t seek this story before . Oliver ’s trench the superhero life sentence before , and inevitably work his means back into costumed vigilantism because a Green Arrow show where Oliver Queen is n’t wear the hood — or is not involve with Team Arrow at all — doesn’t really forge .
But “ Tribute ” has already sowed the source for cease this new position quo , blunt the twist even further . commend how I suppose essentially everyone on this show love keep secrets from each other ? Well , Diggle and Dinah are keeping a big arcanum to themselves — Diggle suffered severe nerve damage because of the Lian Yiu explodapalooza , which has not only cramp his power to aim his gun , but traumatically riddle him with self - doubt .
While the ego - doubt is a very Green Arrow trait to have , present it ’s practically one of Ollie ’s superpowers at this distributor point , an Emerald Archer who ca n’t make shots that could be a affair of biography and death is fit to be a real big problem . Especially when he ’s hiding that from the rest of the squad . So while last Nox ’s Arrow might seem like it introduce a big raw shake up , it really just introduced a twist that ’s bound to come crashing down on itself sooner rather than subsequently . Diggle might brashly tell us that we better get used to it inthe poke for next workweek ’s sequence , but we ’ll just have to see how long it stick .
