Apple has quite a few patent of invention . Steve Jobs alone had313 patents to his name . There ’s one key one however , the ‘ 949 multi - touch letters patent , sometimes known as the Steve Jobs patent , and the USPTO justtentatively rejected all 20 of its claims .

This tentative rejection wasfirst reported by Foss Patentsand while it is only probationary , it goes to show there could be some fissures and shot in the flagship patent Apple has been wielding . The one that claims a “ tinge screenland gimmick , method acting , and in writing substance abuser port for determine command by applying heuristic program . ”
If some of its claims were ultimately found to be invalid , it could have drastic retroactive effects on the ruling inthe big Apple vs Samsung case . On the other paw , if they are in the end found to be valid , the patent will be stronger than ever for having survived an extra cycle of USPTO examination .
This is n’t the first Apple patent to be tentatively nullified . The same thing happen totheir bounce - scroll patent of invention back in October . Of course Apple is cash in one’s chips to muster its best sound judgement to defend these key patent of invention , and its legal team has proven to be savvy in the past tense , so this is by no means the authoritative remnant of this patent of invention .
