Alyson Hanniganis thankful for all that her husbandAlexis Denisofdid while she filmedDancing with the Stars.
TheHow I Met Your Motheractress, 49, credited her partner for doing the household chores, watching the kids and even taking care of her after dance practice as she spent time rehearsing for the show each week.
“He’s been so supportive and I’m not surprised, but I’m super appreciative,” Hannigan told PEOPLE following Tuesday’s episode.
“He is that guy,” she continued. “He’s always been a hands-on dad and he’s made so many sacrifices for us. But just the support and in every single way of, I’m home, but I’m lying on the couch, kind of like, ugh. And he’s everything. He cooks, [he] gets me ice. He’s everything. It’s amazing.”

Hannigan — who recentlycelebrated her 20th anniversarywith Denisof, 59, on Oct. 11 — also gushed about what it meant to finally hit that big marriage milestone.
“It really feels like an accomplishment. I’m so proud of us.” Hannigan shared. “He’s just— and the fact that we’re so happy now and that I love him even more than I did then is so awesome.”
“We’re just like, we’re so, so lucky. We found each other,” she added.

“Happy 20th wedding anniversary to the most incredible husband @alexisdenisof,” she captioned the post.
“Thank you for being my best friend, the best father, the greatest chef, silly comic relief and so much more,” she added. “I love sharing life with you! 🥰”

The actress previously said that she wasn’t set on marriage until she met her future husband.
“It wasn’t an important thing for me until I met Alexis,” the actress toldMovieholewhile promoting American Wedding just before her own wedding in 2003.

“I love just exploring us together and I know he’s the one for me,” she continued. “I was just instantly attracted to him and we were friends for a year and a half before we dated, which I recommend because you really just get to know the person and then if they’re still there, that’s a really good sign.”
Sharing what’s kept their relationship strong after all these years, Hannigan previously toldYourTango: “We’re best friends. He’s my partner and I wouldn’t want to do it with anybody else.”
