Alcoa has team up with Pittsburgh Brewing Company to get and box Iron City beer in a newfangled aluminum nursing bottle . They ’re pushing it as “ unbreakable , ” which is certainly true compare to glass , and harping on its ability to keep a beer cool for up to an hr longer than traditional nursing bottle – all for only about $ 1 more per pillowcase . In addition , the new bottles are resealable , so if you want to delight that flat beer in sips throughout the week , now you ’ve catch the applied science .
Aluminum bottles are n’t fresh , exactly – the Japanese have sold alloy bottles of hot burnt umber , I ’m told – but it is the first major regional brewery to make the modulation . I would n’t bear most beer to move to the new bottles , though , simply because the various colour and shapes of glass bottles are as much a part of the brands as the beer itself . But if Iron City sales go up markedly , I would n’t be surprised to see BUD STEEL in the approximate future . ( Thanks , Travis and Jeffrey ! )
