Alexander Skarsgårdis ready to explain why he’smissing his trousers on his IMDbpage.

“The year beforeZac Efronhad taken his shirt off on stage, and he is so sexy,” Skarsgård said, remembering the evening where he presented an award alongside hisLegend of TarzancostarSamuel L. Jackson.

“I decided to also show a little bit of skin. I couldn’t take my shirt off because Zac had already done that, so I thought ‘Well, then I’ll take my pants off, because it’s equally sexy,’ " the star added.

Skarsgård has been considered a heartthrob for years, ever since his star-making performance as hot-headed vampire Eric Northman on HBO’sTrue Blood.

He is now starring in the newViking thrillerThe NorthmanfromThe Witchdirector Robert Eggers.

When asked which member of the film’s cast he was most excited to work with, Skarsgård told IMDb that acting withBjorkwas “probably the highlight of the entire shoot.”

“It’s been 17 years since her last film, so the privilege of sharing that with her was a very humbling experience,” he added of working with the singer-actress, whose last non-music video acting credits date back to 2005.

The film, out on April 22, also starsAnya Taylor-JoyandWillem Dafoe.

Kidman — who played Skarsgård’s wife inBig Little Lies— previously spoke about signing on to do the project, tellingColliderback in October 2020 before filming started, “I’m deeply committed to filmmakers that I call auteurs. They’re so powerful in their visions and their abilities.”

“I made that pledge when I was about 14 years old that I would travel the world and work with different nationalities in different countries and different genres with different stories,” Kidman, 54, continued at the time. “That’s my calling. So to have been asked to do it is a privilege. A lot of the things, as an actor, you’ve gotta be asked to do them. … [The Northman] is Robert Eggers' story and his vision. I hopefully bring something to the equation but I’m there to participate and contribute.”
