I do n’t like shaving . In fact , I do n’t really know anybody that does . It ’s mussy . It ’s time use up . It ’s sometimes unspeakable . I started using an electric shaver a while back , but I ’ve still never been happy with it . The novel Norelco 9700 gives me Bob Hope .
Norelco just announced a new flagship shaver as well as several updates to its grooming line . It ’s the first accession to the newfangled 9000 series , and it looks a lot likethe most recent addition to the 8000 serial publication . I recently added the Norelco to my morning time routine and have to allow in that it works jolly damn well — here ’s why .
What ’s especially noteworthy about this razor is that it use a new case of blade . Norelco visit it V - Track Precision Technology . Instead of being equipped with flat blades , the blade are v - mould so that they abridge closer to the skin . Norelco says the new blades cut 30 per centum near than other electrical shavers which , to be honest , sound a bit like a made up number . However , equate to bothmy elder , tacky Remington shaverand eventhe new , goofier Gillette razor , the Norelco 9700 did indeed offer a closer shave . annoyance and ding were n’t an issue for me , either .

The other two major changes seem less like technical rise and more like bullet points in a marketing scheme : For one , there ’s the so - name Contour Detect Technology . This is an upgrade to the system that allows the twist ’s three shaving heads to move around . They now move in eight different directions . How that ’s better than the GyroFlex 3D contour - following system on the Norelco 8000 series is beyond me , but it was a comfortable shave . Like many Modern electric shavers on the market , Norelco ’s novel nipper is waterproof , so I used grazing cream in the shower which decidedly help with the smoothness factor .
Now for the part of the experience I was n’t so sell on . The third new aspect of the razor is a new cleaning system , which also serves as a stand for the shaver . I ’m going to be utterly plainspoken : When the small fry is plugged into the stand , it reckon like a weird sexual urge miniature . However , I would n’t commend ever plugging the shaver into the stand . Because the bandstand is a composition of crap .
It ’s a basic design problem . The mechanism that accommodate the shaver in place is badly design , and I came very close to breaking it altogether before I get it to work correctly . The way out became so frustrating and unintuitive that I really had to read the instruction manual , and if you ’re anything like me , you invalidate reading teaching manuals at all monetary value . I did memorize , however , that the whole cleansing process takes ten minutes , plus an special four hours for dry , which seems … excessive .
Then , thing got mussy . I had to wrangle with a monolithic cartridge full of chemicals that helps cleanse the shaver . I ’m not a lover of thing that require cartridges in worldwide , since they think of you have to spend a potentially unnumerable summation of money to keep your gismo play , but that ’s another rant for another day . The problem with the Norelco pickup is that there ’s no seal . If the stall gets jostle at all , the cleansing solution will pour forth everywhere , including all over the clothes you ’re suppose to don out on your date . The top side , I guess , is that it smells tremendous . I normally use cologne water for that kind of matter , though .
A twosome more lilliputian watching : The shaver comes with a beard trimmer adhesion . It ’s passing easy to swap out the parts , too . You just pull off the one thing , and labour the other matter on . The turn on spot is slightly less convenient . It ’s potential to plug the tike like a shot into the bulwark and skip the fully grown cleansing stand bonanza , but you ’re sort of drive in if you lose the proprietary adaptor that comes with the shaver ( would a Micro USB port wine be too much to demand ? ) . prevent track of the right battery charger is an issue you would have with other shavers , too .
This is all to say that it ’s a tangible pleasure to use the Norelco sleek newfangled minor . I really enjoyed using it — which is tell a quite a little give my said hatred towards shaving . While other electrical shavers have lease me down over the years , this one seems fairly bright establish on my ( admittedly pretty limited ) experience with it . For an even safer stakes you may want to strain outone of these .
