Lead Shot – Advent Warp

Wanted to capture the beautiful Christmas lights the metropolis has put up but unfortunately there were many many people today as it was the “ erste advent ” and there was a parade . Open Mic Night
I got bored during a dance band dry run so I decided to start film pictures of some of the equipment . I had borrow a friends 50 millimetre lens so I settle to see what it could do . I train this picture out looking out the window at the destruction of a NYC Subway automobile on my way to see the Thanksgiving Day Parade , and by nature , take picture of it . Tree, Night, Cloud, Stars
Ever since getting my DSLR earlier this yr I ’ve need to try astrophotography . unluckily , living in NYC , it ’s near out of the question , so I need to take advantage of my Thanksgiving trip to try . Day 1 : murky . Day 2 : cloudy . in conclusion on the night before I left it clear up . By the time I get outside the clouds were already coming back but I catch this picture when about half the sky was still clear , giving me the few blue blue specks on the left . I used Photoshop to color the cloud lead green , make them resemble the dawn . canyon EOS REBEL T2i , EF50 mm f/1.8 II , 8 2d exposure , f/1.8 , ISO 100 .

Self-Portrait In Pink
I shot this the morning of the announcement of the competition . I got my BA in photography a little over a yr ago now and have been working full time for a tech reenforcement company from home to provide for myself . I just recently buy this house from a old lady ( hence the pink paint ) and today ( cold-blooded twenty-four hours of the year ) my furnace has gone out . I am without heat and it ’s under 50 degrees in my house , which is n’t defective if you do n’t consider I just sit at my desk for a solid 6 - 8 hr a day . Decided to capture the story of my ridiculous work uniform for these next few days until the furnace is operable and I can browse Gizmodo at a reasonable temperature . Shot with a Nikon D700 , bloodline electron lens 24 - 120 mm , ISO 400 , F 5.6 @ 1/60 Raw . light was the two side lamps of the mirror and a small daylight for fill . Snowflake
I shot this with my Nikon D90 and my new win Tokina AT - X 100 mm Pro D f/2.8 macro lens system ! options were as follows : No flash , ISO 800 , f/8 , bring out for 1/500 in Aperture priority mode . Snow came somewhat too soon this year in Denmark , and I ’ve never taken pictures of snow before ( not with a DSLR anyway ) – so I cannonball along out the morning of the first snow and shot some . astuteness of subject area is pretty sly when doing bridge player held macro picture taking so I did n’t contend to get the snow flake on the tip of the beech foliage in focal point , but this is the best I could do ! Pretty pleased with the solvent . Did some post - processing in Photoshop CS5 and in Aperture . play with NIK Software ’s plug - in suite as well .

The Family Sawdust
Over the vacation , I was photographing my dad woodturning . I never appreciated how truly unique and spectacular his pieces were until recently . observe and photograph the process is incredible – watching something with so much difficulty , preciseness and compactness involved seem to occur so naturally . Canon EOS 20D , Canon 18 - 55 mm lens , f/5.6 , ISO 1600 , 1/800 .

Winner – Xtreme Koi
I was at the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village walking around the Koi Cherry Blossom pool when I saw a food administer motorcar . I noticed the koi went whole nuts when anyone just held their hand over the pool ( feign to neglect nutrient ) , so I asked my sister to send away some food pellet in while I shot . They went unhinged ! I took about 40 - 50 shot , but this one was my favorite because of the huge open mouth in the midsection and the fish just flying all over top of each other . Since this is a FFA , I decided to make it into an HDR range . I flash in raw , so I exposed the same picture 5 metre in Photoshop CS4 ( -2 , -1 , 0 , 1 , 2 ) , then combined and tone represent them in Photomatix Pro . I finished it off somewhat in Lightroom 2.7 , reducing noise . Canon T1i , Canon 18 - 200 IS lens , ISO 400 , f/4.5 , 1/250 sec .
